Her family consisted of artists; her mother was a painter and her father was a famous composer, actor and film producer. She was born in California but after she was given birth she moved to New York. She was there for 5 years.

She lost interest in school as she started singing in temples for Hindus. Furthermore, she also practised Hinduism for about 4 years. Her aunt gave her singing lessons when she was a student at school and she participated in events. She left school when she was 16 as she had developed an interest in dancing.

A record producer, songwriter, and singer, Doja Cat is now a successful artist. Her real name is Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini. Doja Cat is her nickname given by people.  Doja means weed which has been derived from the slang word dojo and cat because she loves cats.

Furthermore, the song titled ‘Juicy’ was solely designed to motivate her to accept herself for who she is. After she lost weight, people kept asking her about her weight loss journey, which she revealed.
